Italian in the Art





Theoretical and practical course to understand art





The course has the objective to give the instruments to interpret and enjoy the best of Italian artistic heritage and at the same to practice the Italian language.

They are also intended practical workshops to learn about the bases of some artistic techniques used in the past.



The art course is based on the "Italia dell'arte" book by Giorgio Massei, Michele Magnatti and Rosella Bellagamba.

The activities are thought to give the instruments to understand the messages of the works in a way that is more autonomous and interactive to the student, so they can appreciate more the beauty of Italy.



There are a number of visits to museums and sites of artistic values planned in the course to directly analyze the works.

The package includes:



• 40 hours of lessons on Italian art, divided as follows:


Week 1: Middle Ages and Renaissance
- 20 hours of art history and Italian language on the Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance styles.
- A practical workshop on fresco technique.
Week 2: Renaissance and Baroque
- 20 hours of art history and Italian language on Renaissance and Baroque style.
- A practical workshop on painting

• Accommodation in a double room.


• 4 excursions to cities full of art, according to the contents of the course


• The book "L'Italia dell'Arte"


• Transfer to Rome (settled with the secretary)


The course is held in the months of February, April and November, with a minimum of 8 participants. It is not intended for professionals and requires at least an elementary knowledge of Italian language.For availability in other dates, contact us.
